Acclaimed Musician Anne McCue & Fans Launch Collaborative Album Project
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Erica Springer + Associates) Anne McCue's online fundraising campaign for the upcoming album, "Even Cowgirls Play the Blues," offers music aficionados an opportunity to support McCue's project by pre-ordering the album and/or buying a premium item offered on McCue's fundraising website. Premiums range from a $10 digital download to $2500 Executive Producer credit. Fans are also asked to help promote the campaign via social media and word-of-mouth.

This collaborative approach allows an indie artist such as McCue to not only pay for recording but to follow through with release publicity and promotion.

McCue's talent has engendered such strong support among her loyal fans that her online fundraising campaign generated over 25% of her target goal on the first day of the campaign.

With "Even Cowgirls Play the Blues," McCue is focused on creating an album that goes deep, with influences such as Tom Waits, Astor Piazzola, John Lee Hooker, Tony Joe White, Howlin' Wolf, Mississippi Allstars, Dr. John, and Mississippi John Hurt. The final product will be, in McCue's words, "swampy, sultry, emotional and fun." Successful fundraising efforts will allow her to reunite the band from her "Roll" album, which was named "Favorite Album of the Year" by Bob Harris (Old Grey Whistle Test, BBC) and critically acclaimed by Billboard and Rolling Stone.

Says McCue, "If we exceed the goal, we will have all the more chance of success in the wild frontier they call the music business." Paying it forward is also a goal: McCue has pledged to contribute a percentage of all contributions over the target to a charity for street kids. Her love of music was forged in Sydney, Australia. After setting up shop in Los Angeles, she became a vital part of the city's roots music scene. She has been heralded by Billboard as "the virtual definition of 'triple threat.' A potent singer, thoughtful songwriter and tough guitarist." She currently spends a great deal of time in Nashville, honing her distinctive hybrid style of grassroots rock, blues, and folk. Americana icon Lucinda Williams has said of McCue: "Initially, her stunning voice hooked me in. Then I got inside the songs. The first chance I got, I went to see her perform . . . I was floored!"
