New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ILDK Media) Cyndi Lauper recently announced the She's So Unusual Tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album. During the 23-date tour, which will kick off June 12th at Humphrey's in San Diego, CA and wrap up July 13th at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT, Lauper will perform the record-setting album in its entirety and will be joined on select dates by special guests Hunter Valentine.
Hunter Valentine who caught the attention of Lauper a while ago, was previously invited to join her on two consecutive True Colors tours alongside Margaret Cho, Debbie Harris, Erasure, The Gossip and The Indigo Girls to name a few. This summer they will officially open for the pop icon who commemorates three decades of music career.
In the meantime, the band just released a brand new music video for their new single dubbed "The Pulse".
Coming straight out of starring in Season 3 of Showtime's hit reality series The Real L Word - Showtime's top-performing unscripted show in prime time - into the release of their third studio album, titled Collide & Conquer no one can deny the momentum behind rockers HUNTER VALENTINE.
The in-your-face rock duo, comprised of Kiyomi McCloskey (lead vocals/guitarist) and Laura Petracca (drummer), has unequivocally established themselves as a veritable powerhouse that tours 200+ dates a year all over the world.
The band has been around the US three times in that last 2 years playing to sold-out shows. Having just completed a 4-week run as support on Sum 41 in the US; a month-long Australian tour; a stop at the coveted SXSW, they are resuming another short leg with Sum 41, before heading to Europe where they will hit UK, France, Germany and Switzerland.
Formed when singer/guitarist Kiyomi McCloskey met drummer Laura Petracca in a crowded bar in their hometown of Toronto, the two quickly forged an unbreakable bond that has seen the band rise to success dazzling audiences across the globe and singlehandedly invading our iPods. After two solid albums (one of which, Lessons From The Late Night, was one of the first great female-fronted rock albums of the decade), the band signed a major record deal with Megaforce Records distributed by Sony Music Entertainment/RED
They recently released Collide and Conquer, their third album produced by Canadian producer and Treble Charger front-man Greig Nori, best known for his hit-making influence on SUM 41 and Iggy Pop. All 11 tracks on Collide & Conquer burst with their distinctive, intense melodies and showcase a band who's finally arrived, all grown up and ready to explode into the mainstream.
They've already been turning up everywhere from the cover of Curve Magazine to Huffington Post to Revolver Magazine's Hottest Chicks in Metal issue as well as a live TV appearance on Fox 5 in Las Vegas, A-Sides on The Huffington Post and Time Warner's "SoCal Sound" (entertainment magazine show on Time Warner Cable Channel 101 in Los Angeles), among others.
Their first single, "Liar, Liar" has been burning up airwaves everywhere from Portland to Chicago to DC. The video for the single is currently being played on over 100 video outlets and is as well on rotation on MTV U. They are now readying to release the second video for the next single dubbed "Pulse".
Continuing its intimidating rock fame doing what they know best: promoting their music through heavy touring schedule across the US, Canada, Asia and Europe, the band has solidified their line-up, put down roots in Brooklyn, and grown their fan base steadily across the globe. It's clear the band has arrived and is exploding into the mainstream already making a whole lot of noise! Hunter Valentine have never been more primed to take the musical world by storm.
