Musical Duo Jonny & Shim Release Debut EP 'Jonny And Shim'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Atlanta-based music group known as Jonny & Shim have released their self-titled debut EP, "Jonny & Shim." The record is a six-track wonder comprising 20 minutes of masterful, modern pop-rock music. The high-spirited record is an inspiring collection of fun and original songs that promises to win Jonny & Shim as many smiles and friends as it does passionate fans.

The sound of "Jonny & Shim" is reminiscent of that unexpected movement in the mid-nineties which married funky, Chili-Peppers style rap and guitar to Sublime-style dub music, producing an entirely new kind of pop that started with groups like the Spin Doctors and culminated in sunny, feel-good pop bands like Sugar Ray, whom Jonny & Shim name as a main artistic influence. To this summery tone and deep groove, Jonny & Shim add their own flawless instrumental talents and undeniable good taste for a result that is welcome, timely, and exceptionally delightful to hear under any imaginable circumstance.

A fine example of their instrumental capacity is the acoustic guitar work that graces the closing measures of "To the Moon." Note also the bluesy riffs that snake in and out of "Outsider." Finally - and ultimately - hear the towering coup de grace that is "One Little Lie," the timbres of which recall U2's guitar tones and the crashing, pounding percussion staccatoes of epic-sounding bands like Kings of Leon. From start to finish, the "Jonny & Shim" EP is consistently surprising, heartwarming and fantastic.

Jonny Kunis and Shim Gartner, the pair responsible for this marvelous EP, share in every aspect of their art, from songwriting and performing to engineering and production. They have been collaborating since the age of 16. Their original project was a pop-punk crew called "The High Tones," whose "Kinda Key EP" reveals many of the refined qualities that would later manifest in "Jonny & Shim."

"We have fun making music, and we try to convey that to the listener," they say about the themes present in their debut record. "The album is often chill and laid back, which is the vibe we're going for; however, we have a serious side too."

Jonny & Shim's self-titled debut EP is available online worldwide now.
