Pottstown, PA. (Top40 Charts/ MVD Entertainment) GROUNDERS is an emerging, hotly tipped five-piece from Toronto, quickly gaining recognition for their idiosyncratic art-pop. Their debut EP Wreck of a
Smile will be released July 7th 2013 on Park The Van Records, with production by Marcel Ramagnano (engineer on Born Ruffians, Rural Alberta Advantage, Woodhands). A full-length album is expected in Fall 2013.
The band has also shared alternate recordings of two EP tracks unmistakably produced by
David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Los Campesinos!): "Speedboats" and "Along the Line." The former appears on a split 7'' with Toronto shoe gazers Program, to be independently released on April 27, 2013.
GROUNDERS have performed alongside internationally acclaimed artists including The Besnard Lakes, Mac Demarco, Beach Fossils, Bear In Heaven, Twin Sister, Yukon Blonde, Zeus, Hooded Fang, The Luyas, Bleached, and Young Magic.

Press highlights:
"The theme-music-worthy "Along the Line," which would fit right in on a
Two Door Cinema Club record, put smiles on faces and maybe a few dents in floor where feet matched the beat of drummer Rob Canali's tambourine." - Exclaim
"Wreck of a
Smile is just now reaching our ears and it is terrific. Lush, guitar-driven dream pop that would land somewhere on the scale between The
Walkmen and
Mercury Rev were such a scale to exist." - Silent Shout
"Their music is just so inherently exciting- every new listen will doubtless result in discovering a nuance missed on previous listens." - GrayOwl Point
"Grounders hone a thinned-out mercury sound, picking notes that cause ripples in the ooze and shimmer on chrome" - The Ontarion
"To miss their catchy, genre-bending indie pop in action would be to miss one of Canada's greatest up and coming talents." - OTM Zine
