Corey Taylor: The Best Of Reddit
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor did a Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything") yesterday, and the response was overwhelming. You can read the whole thing here, but we've culled some of the most interesting questions and answers for you below.

mbuckman: What does the inside of your mask smell like?
coreytaylorrock: Oof- hot garbage, really.
mynameisallen: During your talk at Oxford University you mentioned that there were certain tracks on Iowa that you can't listen to anymore, which ones were they and why? Thanks for doing an AMA man, see you at Download!

coreytaylorrock: It's gotten a little easier for me to listen to that album, but for a while it was really hard. Certain songs like 'Iowa' and 'My Plague' really stick out because how fucked up I was at the time. But now I just put everything in perspective. It's a KILLER album. And I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Download. Twice haha...

metalmademedeaf: Corey, what is your take on the subject of music piracy? How much does it hurt your income, and does it hurt you as an artist?

coreytaylorrock: I realize the days of a hard rock/metal band selling 20 million copies are far behind us. I have two minds about this. I like the fact that music is now available to the farthest reaches of the world, where once there would have been no way to find it. But I hate the fact that people take our blood, sweat and tears and throw it all over like it's nothing, with no thought to what went into making it and how hard we fight for it.

eac_nyc: Has anyone in the band [Slipknot] ever said "Guys...I think we need a fourth drummer"?

coreytaylorrock: Haha thankfully no! And you're right - Joey may just count as 3 drummers in one! Trust me - the day we settled on 9 members, I was like 'Jesus Christ!' But now, well of COURSE!

bloughlin16: How did you learn how to scream the way that you do, and what tips do you have for someone who wants to learn how to do it?

coreytaylorrock: Honestly, it took trial and error to develop my style, which to this day is hard to explain. The best tip I can give is do what comes naturally - if it tears up your throat badly, it's not that right way. You have to find the balance between what's natural and what's brutal, and it's not always easy to find.

kevinafterlife: Hello Corey, i am an admirer of your achievements. What do you think made you succeed? Do you have anything to say to people like me who dream of playing in front of 100,000 people one day, but feel like they aren't gifted in music?

coreytaylorrock: I think my success has to do with 2 great bands, some talent, some balls, and a lot of luck. I am very lucky to be where I am. What I would say is no matter what, follow your heart and your abilities will take you where you need to go, regardless of where that is.
