Confessions Of A Love Affair Album Release

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Vii Music) What if your favorite album was a book? What would the cover look like? Which images would accompany your favorite track? Which song would represent the climax of the plot?

Tampa technology guru and musician L. Frank Kenney, whose musical moniker is 'Vii', took on the challenge of answering these questions with his new album Confessions Of A Love Affair. Released on the independent In Defense of Music record label, Confessions will be available to the public in early May. In addition to a traditional music album, a special edition of Confessions is exclusively available to iPad users, which includes 20 pages of original illustration and photography along with lyrics, narratives and demo tracks giving listeners a behind the scenes look at Kenney's creative process.

Kenney, a University of Tampa alum and technology consultant, drew on decades of music technology experience to produce "Confessions of a Love Affair," which is a mix of Electronica, Pop and Hip Hop. The album includes 11 tracks recorded over the course of two years in his home studio using high tech production technology like Propellerhead's Reason, PreSonus Studio One and Ableton Live along with live instrumentation and vocals.

The album serves as a chronological blueprint of a love affair. The track "Hot For It," embodies the high-energy sensuality of the beginnings of a love affair while "When Our Worlds Collide" is a cosmic collision of beats about a couple merging their individual lives. Kenney's musical influences of Duran Duran, SoftCell and Depeche Mode are evident in his throaty dark lyrical style and industrial instrumentation.

"Confessions Of A Love Affair" can be streamed at Soundcloud.com. The expanded illustrative version of the album is available to Apple iPad users through iBooks. The latter includes 20 pages of original illustrations and photography.

"This album represents the natural evolution of music from records, to CDs to mp3s to something that brings the listener into the creative process of the artist," Kenney said about his latest project. "I like to look at it as the next generation of album.
