Chance is currently preparing to release his latest project "Made In Yonkers", his sixth mixtape, and first completely original full length project. He say's it is the "closest thing to my first album without being my first album" and hopes to "give fans a glimpse of what life was like growing up on the same corners as DMX, The LOX and
Mary J. Blige in the late 90's early 2000's."
Chance Burny Madoff was born,
Brandon Le'Chance Harris-Little on December 8, 1987 to Felecia Harris and Leroy
Little while the latter was the VP of
Black Music for Polygram Records. He started rapping in 1997 after hearing
Puff Daddy and The Family's "No Way Out" album and adopted the moniker "
Chance" after seeing "Sean 'Puffy' Combs" in a magazine and assuming rappers got their stage-name from their middle name. He started to make a name for himself locally, rapping in cyphers and battles.
Chance began recording at age 17 and released his first mixtape "Tell A Friend" in 2007, followed by "The Misadventures Of
George Kush" ('08), "
Daddy's Home" ('10), the "LOVE Chance EP" ('11) and "Plateaus" ('12). He started Crack Distributors
Radio with
Shine Travis at Pace University in 2007 and co-hosted until 2010 featuring artist like Nicki Minaj, Maino, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Cory Gunz, Tone Trump, Triple C's, and many more before they achieved superstardom.
Chance alludes to indulging in a life of "excess" and illicit activity but after surviving a stroke and several close run-ins with the law, he has refocused on music and hopes his next project will introduce his material to a wider audience.
