NEW YORK (www.robinspielberg.com) - You may not have heard of Robin Spielberg, as her music has been out of the mainstream marketplace, but over half a million fans have purchased her CDs and attended her live concerts over the past ten years and now, with the help of iTunes, her fan base is growing by leaps and bounds. Spielberg is a composer/pianist, who has been writing and performing music in the "new-age"/"contemporary instrumental" vein since her youth. In 1994 she was signed by indie North Star Music and was quickly catapulted to the top of her field alongside the fellow contemporary pianists George Winston and Liz Story. This fall, Spielberg's ten-year retrospective, "Memories of Utopia" will be released on her own indie label, playMountain Music. The Cd, her 13th, contains fresh recordings of audience favorites, new pieces, and a bonus DANCE track that is likely to suprise and delight her fans. Spielberg and her husband, Larry Kosson, run playMountain Music out of their Montclair, NJ home as well as an artist agency that works on getting theater, dance and music artists out on the road. Spielberg made her Asian debut earlier this month in Korea at the Seoul Arts Center and taped a television special which will air throughout Asia this fall. Her music has gained a wide popularity in Asia ever since being heard on a popular tv show there. Later this year Mitsubishi in Taiwan will feature her music in one of their ads. iTunes now offers Robin Spielberg's titles on playMountain, and the service has given the artist a whole new world of exposure.
