CultureScout Offers A New Way To Explore Music, Integrates With Spotify Premium
Tulsa, Okla (Top40 Charts/ Moomat LLC) As you explore in CultureScout, the connections within culture are revealed, exposing the threads that tell new stories. CultureScout is for iPad and available for free in the app store. (PRNewsFoto/Moomat LLC)

Today Moomat LLC launches the full integration of Spotify Premium, the streaming music service, with CultureScout for iPad, an app which explores music, artists, albums, and songwriters through their connections with popular and classic culture. "Our team worked with Moomat to ensure an amazing music experience for CultureScout users," said Ronald Pompa, Spotify's Product Owner for Software Partner Platforms.

Moomat is working towards creating the largest semantically connected cultural database in the world and CultureScout enables users to explore it. Integration with Spotify Premium allows CultureScout users to sign in and listen to full-length songs while exploring.

"We want to give people new and interesting ways to discover and enjoy great music," explains Moomat founder and CEO, Daniel Mooney. "We're thrilled to have worked with Spotify to help us make that a reality."

Moomat expands and curates a proprietary database of over 300 million data points, connecting over 40 million songs, two million bands, 2.5 million books, 200,000 films, one million television episodes, 40,000 record labels, 53,000 architectural structures, 16,000 pieces of art, 20,000 video games, and more, forming a unique inter-related web of culture.

CultureScout identifies the threads that connect music, art, literature, film, television, people, architecture, and places. "There is more to a song than taking a minute to listen, more to a piece of art than a look," says Co-Founder Shaun Edwardes. For instance, the album "Animals" by Pink Floyd was influenced by George Orwell's novel Animal Farm, and features album artwork by notable rock band graphic designer Storm Thorgerson, centered around the Battersea Power Station, a decommissioned coal-fired power station in London, which was also featured in the films 1984, The King's Speech, and the Beatles' 1965 movie, Help.

CultureScout is available for free in the iTunes App Store or at www.culturescoutapp.com. Spotify is available for download at www.spotify.com.
