Megadeth New Album 'Super Collider' Debuts No 6 On Billboard's Top 200 Chart!
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) Longtime fans as well as new fans have spoken with their actions by purchasing the new Megadeth, album Super Collider. Megadeth, a heavy metal band that's been around for nearly three decades, selling more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning 11 Grammy nominations, now adds Top 6 album to their recent list of accomplishments. Super Collider debuts at #6 on Billboard's Top 200 albums making this their highest debut since their multi-platinum albums Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia. Taking their position ahead of Imagine Dragons and right on the heels of Darius Rucker on Billboard's Chart, Megadeth also debuts at #3 on Billboard's Hard Music Chart. The title track from the album "Super Collider" also debuts at #1 on the CMJ Loud Rock Chart this week. Check out a recent interview with Dave Mustaine with Grammy.com and listen to another track "Built For War" from the album.

With five consecutive platinum albums already under their belt—founder, leader, guitarist, lyricist Dave Mustaine reunites once again with guitarist Chris Broderick, bassist David Ellefson and drummer Shawn Drover.

Mustaine draws his themes and lyrics from his personal experiences. Tracks on the album include "Built for War" (co-written with Drover), inspired by Mustaine's martial arts lessons as a latch-key kid which taught him to defend himself, and the corrosive "Off the Edge," a song about a world gone mad, shares the album with cautionary tales about teenage pregnancy ("Beginning of Sorrow," a co-write with Broderick), the ravages of drug addiction ("Kingmaker"), a faltering economy ("Dance in the Rain"), an arsonist ("Burn!"), betrayal ("Don't Turn Your Back on a Friend") and even the very personal and painful process he is currently dealing with as his mother-in-law battles with Alzheimer's (the dark delta country-blues of "The Blackest Crow" and "Forget to Remember").

Megadeth will also be headlining GIGANTOUR, which kicks off July 3 on the East Coast. The critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by Dave Mustaine—returns in 2013 with an incredible new multi-artist bill featuring metal heavyweights BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH, NEWSTED and DEATH DIVISION, all personally picked by Mustaine.

The Super Collider title comes from the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator which allows physicists to smash atoms in the hope of discovering the origins of the Big Bang Theory. The actual device, considered one of the great engineering milestones of mankind, is pictured on the album cover, with permission from CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), which developed and built it.

ABOUT MEGADETH (www.megadeth.com):
Scoring five consecutive platinum albums—including 1992's two-million-selling Countdown to Extinction—MEGADETH's founder, leader and primal guitar-slinger and lyricist Dave Mustaine feels the best is yet to come.

Mustaine formed Megadeth in Los Angeles in 1983, and with a string of five consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums Megadeth became one of the biggest bands of the mid-'80s and '90s, boasting such arena anthems as "Symphony of Destruction," "Peace Sells," "Holy Wars… The Punishment Due," and "Sweating Bullets," along with the top singles in 1997/98 off Cryptic Writings, "Trust," (No. 1 track) "Almost Honest," "Use The Man" and "A Secret Place."
