Black is primarily an underground producer whose best known for his most recent work with the alternative/electronic/rock act, She Loves No One, but he is an O.G. in the independent music industry. He has helmed production responsibilities for Powerblast Worldwide Recordings and has released over 8 critically acclaimed and regionally successful independent album projects. Nowadays, very few people know that he began his career as a hip-hop/rap vocalist and he enjoyed great underground success with the group called BOMBTHREAT. Lately, not only has he been producing and co-writing songs for the full-length highly anticipated debut album with She Loves No One, but he has also been secretly working his solo project. He's decided to step from behind the scenes to unleash his latest creations; and in doing so, he accomplishes what very few artists can do, which is to write, compose, produce, record, mix and master his all of his own material. As an accomplished producer, sound designer and studio engineer, his debut solo EP, "The Assassination of Gino Black" is entirely an in-house/self-contained endeavor. Black has spent the last few years [based in Miami, FL] developing a signature sound of blending aggressive hip-hop beats with thrashing electric guitars, which is sure to blow the mainframe out of what contemporary hip-hop and/or rock are expected to sound like. He calls his style of music 'Hip-Rock'; a derivative of 'Hip-Rock-Electronic-Indi-Hop', which is his long version of describing his sound as an artist.
As a setup for the forthcoming EP, "The Assassination of Gino Black", Powerblast Worldwide is releasing the 1st single, "Liquor Flow". This track is an aggressive mash-up of a hip-hop banger and a nu-metal thrasher! On this song, Gino
Black raps ferociously over a dark, decadent and provocative beat. The chorus features an infectious hook and crunchy electric guitars. This high-energy song would have fit perfectly in a film like 'Project X'. It could be called a club banger, but that would lead one away from the fact that this song could also easily destroy a house party and/or any college campus or frat house event.
