Upper Darby, PA. (Top40 Charts/ Relapse Records) Finnish hardcore heroes UNKIND have released a new track "Valtakunta" from their forthcoming album 'Pelon Juuret' via MetalSucks. MetalSucks muses if Unkind has created yet another new sub genre of extreme music, "blackened d-beat." "It's like fighting against a strongman whose fists are made of fire, so you not only get pummeled, but also burned to a blackened crisp," they say.
'Pelon Juuret' was recorded with producer Kari Nieminen at Noisecamp studios in Turku, Finland at the end of 2012 and will be released on CD/LP/Digital via Relapse Records on July 9th in North America, July 8th in the UK/World, and July 5th in Germany, Benelux, and Finland.
The title track from 'Pelon Juuret' is currently available for streaming via Soundcloud while exclusive pre-order packages are available via Relapse. '
Pelon Juuret' continues in the direction of the group's previous work, offering up a furious fusion of d-beat hardcore crossed with a highly creative touch of atmospherics —as if
Mogwai made a record of Tragedy covers or From Ashes Rise were influenced by Explosions In The Sky.
UNKIND has previously released five full-length albums and a handful of vinyl-only releases. The band's catalog is available for streaming via their official Bandcamp page.
Additionally, the band has been confirmed for a series of Finnish dates including LPRHC and Back 2 School Fest . A complete listing is available below with more shows to be announced shortly.
