Grand Prize Winner Named In Hill Country Golf & Guitar's Young Musicians Competition
Austin, TX (Top40 Charts/ Phillips & Company) Hill Country Golf & Guitar - the only destination restaurant of its kind featuring a premium mini-golf experience and live music - proudly announces local singer-songwriter Paul Koudouris as the Grand Prize Winner of the Perfect Pick: Young Musicians Competition. The Perfect Pick is the first of many music competitions hosted by Hill Country Golf & Guitar, which will open this fall to serve the Bee Cave, Lakeway and Greater Austin communities.

"All our finalists demonstrated that Austin is home to great musical talent and all are worthy of playing on the main stage when we open this fall."

"I am very grateful to Hill Country Golf & Guitar for giving me this opportunity to share my music in different ways and so thankful to all my supporters for voting," Koudouris said, who, as part of his prize, will be playing at Hill Country Golf & Guitar on opening weekend.

Young musicians, ages 26 and younger, were encouraged to submit up to three songs to the Perfect Pick music competition using links to their recordings on SoundCloud.com. The entries that best exemplified the use, expression and integration of the guitar within the music passed the first round of judges. Only six artists made it to the final stage, additionally facing a two-week vote-by-Likes on Facebook. The Loose Wheels, Arielle Nicole, Jackie Venson, Hannah D'Herde, Grace London and Paul Koudouris were the remaining contenders.

This pool of finalists demonstrated the diverse sound of the guitar - from summer strums to bluesy guitar sounds to all-out rock. "They've really set the bar high for future Perfect Picks," said Hill Country Golf & Guitar Owner Rich Phillips, who plans to host the competition annually. "All our finalists demonstrated that Austin is home to great musical talent and all are worthy of playing on the main stage when we open this fall."

But it was 23-year-old Koudouris' My Kinda Girl which stole the show during community voting. The young artist from San Antonio secured more than 700 Facebook likes, and, as the Grand Prize Winner, wins promotion from Hill Country Golf & Guitar, a $250 cash award, the personalized Perfect Brass Pick and the opportunity to perform on the Hill Country Golf & Guitar stage on opening weekend.

This summer Koudouris will feature his new album "Twenty-Something" at the Brauntex Theatre during its Summer Music Fest August 29. He will also perform in Austin at Zach Scott Theatre for its production of Janis Joplin Rock Concert. Visit Koudouris' website (www.paulkmusic.com/) or his Facebook page (www.facebook.com/paulkmusic) to learn more about his work. "Twenty-Something" is available on iTunes.
