New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Red Hot Rebellion) Dayton, Ohio's RED HOT REBELLION was founded on a singular principle: to rebel against the watered-down excuse for Rock of the status quo. Their music is loud, fast, and furious — perhaps a throwback to a simpler time when Rock was fun and full of energy. A time where music was more important than fashion. Where intensity is more exciting than whining about break ups and heartache. Where a Les Paul and a Marshall half-stack can rattle your bones and shake your blood. By blending together Punk, Blues, Garage and Classic Rock into a full frontal assault on the senses, Red Hot Rebellion creates a sound that they call "The
Soundtrack to a Bar Fight."
Balls out, fun, loud Rock n Roll, space aliens, feedback, power chords and ripping guitar solos... what else is there? Maybe not so subtle metaphors comparing space travel to sex? Check. Songs about the Devil and BJs? Check. Drinking songs? Check.
For far too long music snobs have twisted Rock music into some sort of high brow art form, which it totally can be, but some of the recklessness and pure fantastical fun of the music has been lost. RED HOT REBELLION is simple, straightforward drinking man's music. Not complex math project thinking man's music. Paradoxically, two thirds of the band are Straight Edge. Which, in our view, gives the music even MORE of a fun element. You don't need to get bombed out of your mind to LOSE your mind in the raw fury of facemelting Rock n Roll! "Although it definitely helps and we wholeheartedly encourage binge drinking at any of our shows. Or while listening to our albums" says vocalist and RHR bassist Jim Tramontana.
The name "Melt The Sky" for the titular track was conceived last summer when Tramontana became obsessed with nuclear bomb testing. Particularly of interest to him was Operation Starfish Prime, where the United
State test detonated nuclear weapons in the upper stratosphere and lower outer space. Some of the test participants were said to be worried that the explosion might cause the Earth's ozone layer to completely evaporate, essentially melting the sky. The thought of continuing with such a dangerous experiment was so completely insane and ballsy that Tramontana immediately began writing"Melt The Sky." After the songwriting process began, RHR immediately left planet Earth and started to dabble in science fiction and space aliens. The end result is the concept story behind "Melt The Sky," as told in the lyrics of the song.
