Introducing Carmen Rainier, The Second Half Of EDM Sensation (We Are) Nexus

Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ (We Are) Nexus) Providing the perfect counter to producer/composer Nick Gunn's deep musicality, (We Are) Nexus' vocalist/lyricist Carmen Rainier has been captivating Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fans the world over with her sexy, stimulating lyrics.

Her first work to be released, a cover of Sonique's 1998 trance hit "It Feels So Good," will be available through Shotgunn Productions on August 6th, 2013. But what is it exactly that sets Rainier apart?

Originally raised in Orange County, CA, Rainer spent most of her adult life traveling: visiting nearly twenty countries and living abroad in Spain, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. She eventually returned to the U.S. to complete a degree in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

After a brief internship in Washington DC solidified that her destiny not lay in politics, Rainier's future was left undecided until a chance encounter with Gunn put her on a crash course in Music Industry 101. "It has been an intense learning curve over the last few years; there have been some big hurdles to overcome. But it's paid off. I now feel I am on top of my game, both as an artist and in my understanding of the music business" says Rainier.

Now calling Chicago her home, Rainier and Gunn combined their unique talents to form (We Are) Nexus; bringing together sleek, polished production with thought-provoking lyrics.

With lines such as "Close your eyes you'll see me with your ears / In pitch perfect resonance / I exist within the deaf silence / Can you hear the sound of my beat," it is no wonder Rainier is getting rave reviews for her original material.

"Carmen is as smart as she sounds," says Gunn. "Aside from the lyrics and vocals, she runs the entire business end of what we do, including overseeing the publishing and licensing of my previously published works."

(We Are) Nexus' debut EP featuring their cover of Sonique's 1998 trance hit "It Feels So Good" and its accompanying remixes will be available through Shotgunn Productions on August 6th, 2013 from all major digital and on-line stores wherever music is sold.
