NEW YORK (Straylight Run Official Website) - Straylight Run have much to celebrate as the release of their self-titled debut draws near; commercial Alternative radio stations are starting to stir, ink is confirming in publications like Alternative Press, Giant, Devil In The Woods and Newsday, they will soon shoot their first video, and the first half of their headlining North American tour is confirmed. They will be joined by Hot Rod Circuit, Northstar and Say Anything for their first headlining tour that will eventually cover both coasts.

While the add date for radio isn't till September 21st, Straylight Run is generating buzz at two of Alternative radio's powerhouse stations. After winning Detroit's CIMX People's Choice for four nights running, they were added into power rotation and will be getting 30-40 spins per week. Philadelphia's WPLY got into the action as well, with "Existentialism On Prom Night" winning their Cage Match last night. They were also guests on K-ROCK's Domestic Disturbance show on Sunday, August 22nd where they performed live.

Straylight Run formed in May of 2003 when John Nolan and Shaun Cooper, formerly of Taking Back Sunday, began writing and recording new songs together with friends. When Breaking Pangaea disbanded, they invited drummer, Will Noon, to practice with them - soon he was a permanent part of the band. The band's line-up was complete when John's sister, Michelle, was asked to sing, play piano and guitar - bringing ethereal soprano harmonies and the versatility to switch instruments throughout their show.

Straylight Run made the unique decision to offer their demos to the public as free downloads, creating a huge buzz among fans and in the industry.
Alternative Press chose the band for inclusion in their January "Most Anticipated Of 2004" issue.
Raves were published in NY Newsday, England's RockSound and dozens of music zines.
MTV stepped up to the plate as early believers, booking Straylight Run for an Advance Warning segment, while upstart competitors Fuse TV featured the band on their audience-interactive IMX show.

After recording their album with Michael Birnbaum (Coheed and Cambria, John Mayer, Bad Brains), Straylight hit the road, playing a National tour with Rooney. They are currently finalizing the plans for their first video for the single "Existentialism on Prom Night" - which is slated for direction by Major Lightner, known for his work on videos for The Exit and Catch 22.
Following the filming, they will head out on the road. Contact Heather West to schedule interviews.
