Polyphonic Spree - "the gloriously exuberant, sprawling pop group" (NPR) - has announced 12 new U.S. dates to support their upcoming album 'Yes, It's True.' On the heels of overseas festival appearances, the band will return to the U.S. for a coast-to-coast tour, including appearances at Portland's Wonder Ballroom, L.A.'s El Rey, and Houston's Fitzgerald's.
With their new album out Aug. 6 (Good Records Recordings/Kirtland Records), The
Polyphonic Spree will kick off the late summer run with an August 9th release party in their hometown of Dallas. The band will perform songs from 'Yes, It's True,' which SPIN called, "Resilient sunshine-pop [that] pummels with vintage '70s pep," and
Nylon called "an 11-song collection of exceptionally diverse anthems and ballads."
'Yes, It's True' caps a whirlwind 2012 for The
Polyphonic Spree in which the band recorded two albums, traversed the U.S. on two tours, debuted their rendition of 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' in London, captured a live concert DVD, and released 'Holidaydream:
Sounds of the Season Vol. 1.'
