SAN ANTONIO, TX (Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians) - The Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians© will host the Tejano Academy© Music Awards and Gala on September 19, 2004 in the historic La Villita district of downtown San Antonio, TX. The show - a formal music awards and gala event will recognize and reward some of the genre's most prominent and electrifying artists. FREE live concerts featuring Tejano's hottest acts will immediately follow the awards show in Maverick Plaza.
'We are extremely pleased to bring a formal Music Awards style show back to the fans and Tejano artists,' said President of the Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians, Mr. Donald Garza. 'The Academy, our associates and sponsors have worked long and hard to prepare a quality show and after-party featuring live performances from some of your favorite artists.'

'This is a new chapter for Tejano music,' said Chayo Zaldivar, Executive Director, Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians. 'We have superbly talented artists, support of fans and sponsors— there's no doubt this years event will be a resounding success.'

The Academy of Tejano Artists and Musicians, a non-profit membership based organization, was created to recognize and reward Tejano recording artists, musicians, songwriters, producers and other creative and technical recording professionals.
Tickets: $25.00. Tickets may be purchased from the Tejano Academy office or website (www.tejanoacademy.com). Tejano Academy members may purchase tickets for $12.50.
