New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ WiFi-PR Group) WiFi-PR Group launched its second volume of Indie Anthems at Lollapalooza, last weekend in Chicago. The on-going digital mixtape series features top unsigned and independent artists from around the globe, that showcases eclectic genres including Rock, Alternative Hip Hop, Electronica, Urban and Acoustic Indie Folk and Pop.
Vol.2 is a strategic mix of sound exposing the listener to R& B artists such as
Chicago scene veteransTime Morris feat. Diva to Canadian indie pop Prairie Queen,
Daisy Blue Groff. The mix doesn't stop there switching to fast paced shrill guitar chords of Toronto's indie rock sensation Final Thought to Jana Lahti's emotionally packed acoustic-electronica mix, Wildfire which has blazed the indie music charts.
Wifi PR Group handed out over 3500 Indie Anthems download cards to festival goers at Lollapalooza and other recent music industry events including SXSW in Austin this past March, where Vol. 1 of the series was first debuted.
The series is a tool WiFi PR Group uses to promote their clients music and is given away exclusively at music industry events and festivals.
Each Volume of the mixtape is limited to 5000 free downloads made available through Bandcamp. WiFi PR Group distributes approximately 3500 physical download cards at events and then make the remaining 1500 downloads available online through the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page .
When asked how the artists are selected for Indie Anthems Alicia
Kelly WiFi PR Group's
Director of Marketing explained "We are very passionate about the Indie Anthems brand and a lot of factors go into our selection process, including marketability of the Artist. However, the bottom line is and always will be about the music. If we come across a new artist that has a well produced, killer track without a tour history, huge following or a developed online presence, we don't discount them. It's about good music and talent at the end of the day because we know that we can help develop and push them their next level of success, in whatever form that is for them; but you can't do much of anything for an artist if the music isn't good."
Unlike many unsigned and independent music samplers, the tracks on Indie Anthems promote a transparent purpose: to create a playlist that will satisfy listeners and tastemakers in search of authentic, eclectic sounds and to discover artists with musical presence.
WiFi PR Group's goal is to build a trusted brand that industry tastemakers and music fans alike will come to trust as a viable source for discovering new music. They anticipate shuffling three compilations in 2013, with Vol. 3 slated for release in October during CMJ
Music Marathon in New York.
There are 25 free downloadable tracks on Vol. 2. The collage of music will persuade even the most casual listener because the playlist starts off strong and hits hard, much like a batting line-up and flows organically from genre to genre. Indie Anthems has something for everyone.
