Touring for over a span of 4 decades opening for legendary bands like The Allman Brothers, Outlaws, Boston, Beach Boys, Steve Miller, Kansas, Rush, Ted Nugent, Styx and many others.
Bobby has built a reputation for being a worthy sideman, lead guitarist and vocalist. His musical resume' includes time with Stanky Brown, Tycoon,
Ellen Foley, Suzanne Fellini, the Starz, Franke & The Knockouts,
Robin Beck and with one of his heroes the legendary Steve Winwood.
Bobby has also recorded and has played on dozens of records with such luminaries as Clarence Clemmons, Fiona, Joe Lynn Turner, Robey,
David Hasselhoff and even recorded the MTV jingle "The Basement Tapes" theme.
In 1989,
Bobby released the self-titled "MESSANO" CD on Relativity/Strategic/CBS Records. The CD garnered amazing reviews (Four KKKK's in Kerrang) with lots of airplay and to this day it comes up in many of the Top 50 Lists for '80's AOR Classics. In 1997, he recorded his second critically acclaimed solo CD "DOMINION ROADS".
Then in 2002, DOMINION ROADS was re-released on Fishhead Records. The renamed, remastered and repackaged album came out as "HOLDIN' GROUND" and garnered a First
Round Grammy Nomination to rave reviews worldwide from Blues
Radio and the Blues Press.
Bobby continued to write, produce, play and tour out of Nashville with MCA artist Alecia Elliot, and number one charting artists Steve Holy,
Rodney Atkins and Jimmy Wayne. During this time,
Bobby also continued doing acoustic and electric dates both solo and with his band.
In 2006 he co-Produced the new
Shadows of Knight CD, "A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER" and went on the road supporting it on the "LITTLE STEVEN UNDERGROUND GARAGE BAND TOUR".
2008 was an exciting year with the re-release of his critically acclaimed 1989 tour de force Rock CD "MESSANO" successfully supporting shows in Las
Vegas and The Rocklahoma Festival followed as well as some Headlining and co-headlining the Fabulous T-Birds shows and festivals. In addition,
Bobby also finished his follow up to "HOLDIN' GROUND" with a NEW Album "TRIALS TRAUMAS TRIBULATIONS AND DEMOS" which contained new tracks, demos and songs that were written for TV and other artists of mostly unreleased material. The CD was released in January 2009 on ITunes, Amazon and Rhapsody.
Bobby spent 2009 on the road supporting TTT&D.
In 2010 his first Live CD, "BOBBY MESSANO LIVE IN MADISON" was First
Round Nominated for the 53rd ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS. The CD sold out by the end of 2010, but is still available for download on ITunes and CD Baby. Bobby's next CD "THAT'S WHY I DON'T SING THE BLUES" was released on July 7th of that year and has already had airplay on over 250 radio stations and Blues syndications. It is available at
