Memphis's Ardent Music Signs Greyhounds
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Ardent Music) Ardent Music has signed Austin-based band the Greyhounds to a three-album contract, it was announced by label director Reed Turchi. Ardent intends to build on the considerable fan base the band has developed on the road and as a staple of the Austin music scene.

"Signing the Greyhounds is a tremendous opportunity," says label director Reed Turchi. "Andrew and Anthony are tested pros, ready to get on the fast track. This is exactly the type of band Ardent Music has been looking for, another pillar in reinvigorating the label."

As Greyhounds, guitarist Andrew Trube and keyboardist Anthony Farrell have been making music and touring for 15 years, refining and developing a sound Trube calls "Hall and Oates meet ZZ Top." The band also has long ties to Memphis, home of the soul that inspires them. In addition to their unflagging showmanship, the duo has been writing songs for a variety of other musicians, including Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.

Ardent Studios has had a long and productive relationship with Texas music: Studio C was designed for ZZ Top, which called Ardent home for many years, and Stevie Ray and Jimmy Vaughan recorded "Family Style" in the famous brick building on Madison Avenue.

The first album from the Greyhounds on the newly re-established Ardent Music label will be "Accumulator," scheduled for a March, 2014 release. The album will combine cream-of-the-crop tunes that have become popular standards with the band's devoted fans alongside new, previously-unheard tunes. The second and third releases will consist of all-new material written by the prolific songwriting duo, combining their roots in country, blues, rock, and soul with contemporary influences.

Ardent Music launched it renewal of the label earlier this year with the successful July release of the Admirers album "Involuntary Memory" as the first step. The Greyhounds' "Accumulator" builds on the band's considerable acclaim as songwriters and performers to further invigorate the rebirth of the label.
