New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) The Devil Wears Prada 's fifth studio album, 8:18 , is available everywhere today. Produced by the band and Matt Goldman , with Killswitch Engage 's Adam D. serving as executive producer, the album takes its title from Romans 8:18, a Bible verse (go look it up).
Guitarist Jeremy DePoyster was recently interviewed by PureVolume ; he describes the band's breadth of influences as having a positive impact on their music without necessarily reshaping it away from the heaviness that's at the core of their sound, saying, "I think we were able to watch a lot of bands come up and do a lot of cool things and then just turn their back on everything and try to go down some weird path that was self-destructive and we don't want to do that. We want to be our own band and make our own songs. We don't want to turn into this hipster act playing only wimpy little things, that's not going to happen. We're a heavy metal band but I do think those influences do come in and probably a lot of guys making awesome records—not that I'm saying that about us—would say the same thing in the sense that they're influenced by everything around them."
