Iconic Guitarist Slash Will Visit The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy
Sioux Falls, SD (Top40 Charts/ Dollar Loan Center) The most recognizable guitarist in the World, Slash , will attend the first ever student concert on September 28, 2013 at the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls to support both the academy and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire.

Rock & Roll Academy founder and Dollar Loan Center CEO, Chuck Brennan , had the pleasure of meeting the legendary guitarist Slash at Rockfest in Cadott, Wisconsin, where Slash opened for KISS . Earlier that day, KISS made a stop by the Academy for a dedication of the KISS rehearsal rooms.

Brennan Brennan and Slash hit it off from the get go and started discussing the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy and the fact that it's the first ever free music program for the children of the Boys and Girls Clubs. "Slash was so impressed that he immediately wanted to get involved and show his support to the academy and the kids," Brennan said. "Slash will be the first celebrity rock star to watch the kids perform and see their concert."

But that was not enough for Slash! When he found out that one of the student bands had chosen the Guns N' Roses version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door," he insisted that he get up and jam with the kids.

"Can you even begin to comprehend how cool it's going to be for these kids who just learned how to play and are performing their first little concert in front of their peers to play with Slash?"

The student concert at the academy will feature three student bands that have been learning how to play instruments and rehearsing since the academy opened in April. The concert is NOT open to the public, which makes it even more special for the children.

After the show, Slash will meet the students and offer words of encouragement. "This is a HUGE deal for not only the students and academy but also the community. This music program has taken on a life of its own around the country - having Slash brings it to the next level for sure," said Brennan.

Slash was an original founding member of Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, Guns N' Roses, and made history, breaking records with them for over 25 years since the release of their debut album, Appetite for Destruction. He reemerged in 2010 with his cutting-edge solo debut. In 2011, Slash was named an official selection and received a star in 2012 on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. In 2012, Slash and his band featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators released the critically acclaimed album Apocalyptic Love, which earned Slash his two first-ever #1 rock radio hits: "You're A Lie" and "Standing In The Sun". This fall, Slash will release Nothing Left To Fear , the first-ever motion picture he has co-produced from Slasher Films, his production company. Nothing Left To Fear will have a limited release in select theaters nationwide on Friday, October 4 and arrive on DVD and digital On Demand Tuesday, October 8.

The Brennan Rock and Roll Academy is the first music program EVER in support of the Boys and Girls Club. Brennan made a 20-year commitment to the incredible program and facility in which the costs will exceed over $3,600,000.

"This academy means the world to me - it is in my home town and I myself was a member of the Boys and Girls Club growing up. It is amazing to receive so much support from iconic rock stars," Brennan said. "Since opening in April, many iconic rock stars have visited the academy and performed including KISS, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil, Robby Krieger, Night Ranger and even George Lopez," adds Brennan.
