Australia's Emperors Play 3 Shows Including Aussie BBQ And Official CMJ Showcase
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Green Light Go) Coming from the most isolated major city in the world is Perth's Emperors, ready to take the Big Apple by storm with their abrasive, alt rock sound that any '90's grunge fan could appreciate. Emperors are offering an mp3 download of their single, "Be Ready When I Say Go" in support of their upcoming three New York shows including an official CMJ showcase at Lit Lounge on Friday, October 18.

"Be Ready When I Say Go" off their debut album Stay Frostywas featured as a US iTunes Single of the Week and Rock Song Of The Year. Stay Frosty is noisy pop at it's best, played by a band unashamedly stuck in their own bubble of musical influences and unlikely to become the darlings of Pitchfork anytime soon. No song titles are spelled incorrectly or without vowels, and there are no traces of synthesizers or keys. There is no content which should inspire reviewers to use genre names such as "chill wave" and "glitch hop", nor any music written whilst wearing a v-neck t-shirt.

In the live arena, Emperors' sound a lot more abrasive than than they do on record. Playing their songs at jet engine volume, their set is filled with feedback, harmonies, massive guitars and a rhythm section like an out of control freight train clinging to the rails for dear life.

Emperors first made their mark on the Australian music landscape in 2010 when they were 'Unearthed' by national alternative radio station Triple J shortly after forming. This led to a slot at the Big Day Out Festival, a Rolling Stone feature and the release of the EP Sam. Along the way there's been Australian tours and support slots with Ash, Manic Street Preachers, Silversun Pickups, The Breeders and many more.

Praise for Emperors

"Stay Frosty is a great new album from a band well deserving of their recent success and who seem to be enjoying every moment of it." - Sputnikmusic

"[T]he band have become adept at crafting capsules of garage rock, that are both raw but also very listenable." - Simon Clark - The AU Review

"The band also sound a lot more along the lines of the bands to play the original Lollapaloozas than much of what's currently going on in music (I think Matt Pinfield would've been happy to give them some substantial airtime.)" - Izzy Cihak - Philthy Mag

"Without a weak point, Stay Frosty is as solid a rock record as you're likely to hear all year. There are no gimmicks or tricks to Emperors, and it makes them a band you can quickly believe in." - Benny Doyle - The Music

"With wailing guitars, brutal drum fills, heavy bass, complimentary male/female harmonies, and a gruff imperfect vocal aesthetic, Emperors refuse to sell themselves short - especially with their single 'Be Ready When I Say Go'." - Dan Kimbrough - Cougar Radio
