The Ceremonies Named MTV Artist To Watch, Debut Self-Titled EP Released Today
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cornerstone Agency) Los Angeles based trio The Ceremonies will be featured as MTV's new Artist to Watch starting today. The two week campaign will feature exclusive interviews and performances only seen on MTV and mtv.com. That honor follows last week's video premiere of "Land of Gathering," the first single from The Ceremonies' self-titled debut EP. The Ceremonies EP is available today via Atom Factory/Capitol Records. The 5-track EP merges edgy, New Wave-inspired alt-rock with melody-powered pop that's both lush and endlessly catchy.

Made up of three stylish and post-punk-obsessed brothers - Matthew, Mark, and Michael Cook - The Ceremonies released their debut single "Land of Gathering" earlier this year. Since premiering via VICE Noisey, the introductory video for "Land of Gathering" has racked up more than 781,875 views. Gaining major radio airplay from SiriusXM's Alt Nation, "Land of Gathering" has also emerged as a favorite on KROQ's "Locals Only" countdown, where the song spent two weeks in the number-one slot.

With shows in support of Willy Moon, Dear Boy, Roy Orbit and We Are Scientists already under their belt, The Ceremonies are gearing up to tour with The Fratellis from November 1st to November 12th (full schedule below).

Formed while the youngest two Cook brothers were still in high school, The Ceremonies name post-punk/New Wave/indie-pop pioneers like Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure and The Smiths among their key influences. Also drawing inspiration from romantic poets like William Blake and Williams Wordsmorth - as well as from British futurist writer Aldous Huxley - the band is hailed by V Magazine as a "conflagration of pounding drums and live-wire energy all but missing from radio today, armed with anthemic harmonies and a distinctly otherworldly sensibility."
