New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Originally penned as a gift to her parents, Evie Archer's "
On Christmas Day" - a heartfelt song about missing loved ones during the holidays - is about to pull the heartstrings of thousands of listeners across America.
Establishing herself as a dynamic live performer, Archer is set to open three shows at prominent East Coast venues in October including Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ (10-13), River Club in Scituate, MA (10-25) and City Winery in NYC (10-27).
Archer's debut single hits national radio on November 4. The track was produced by legendary producer Gary Katz, renowned for his groundbreaking recordings with
Steely Dan as well as legendary figures Diana Ross, Joe Cocker,
Laura Nyro and many others.
Katz, who also co produced the single "Bad Behavior," from Archer's upcoming self titled debut EP (due in early 2014), says, "Every once in a while, an artist comes along whose music separates them from the crowd.
Evie Archer is one of those artists."
Archer's EP will also feature production by
Martin Briley, a renowned British singer/songwriter who has penned songs for everyone from
Celine Dion, *NSYNC and Pat Benatar to
Gregg Allman and Kenny Loggins.
"I'm really excited about all these opportunities to record and perform my music," says Evie. "With 'On Christmas Day,' I wanted to write something from the heart, recognizing that painful situation that many people go through when they can't be close to the people they love during the holidays. I wrote it for my parents because I didn't have a job at the time and couldn't afford to buy a conventional gift. It's wonderful to think that a song that came from such a personal place can now touch so many people. One of my favorite lines in the song goes 'a letter never says everything it should say,'" she adds. "I love how the melody at the end conveys the perfect emotion. The first version of the song that Gary heard was my GarageBand demo, and I love how he helped me bring it to life."
