Los Lobos Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary With The Release Of "Disconnected In New York City" On October 29, 2013
Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts / 429 Records) Los Lobos, Los Angeles' masterful musicians who catapulted from the East L.A. bar scene to worldwide recognition for their unique sound mixing Latin soul grooves, roots rock, Mexican folk, traditional Spanish, blues and R&B, are celebrating their 40 th anniversary as a band with the release of "DISCONNECTED IN NEW YORK CITY " - their 429 Records debut. Recorded live last December @ the City Winery in New York City , the original members, David Hidalgo , Cesar Rosas , Louie Perez , Steve Berlin and Conrad Lozano (with the additional help of Enrique "Bugs" Gonzalez and Camilo Quinones ) play with an invigorating, joyous spirit as they revisit four decades of musical magic. 429 Records will honor the tremendous legacy of the band by releasing "DISCONNECTED IN NEW YORK CITY " on October 29 th in three formats—a standard CD, a deluxe 2CD/DVD package available exclusively at Amazon and on vinyl. Fans can pre-order the Deluxe set at - https://smarturl.it/LosLobosAmazon .

The band will return to LA for a live session at KCSN, followed by a performance at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go for a 40 th Anniversary show on November 14 th . They'll also be returning to NY's City Winery for three shows Nov. 30-Dec 2 nd and on December 20 and 21 st , the band will celebrate 40 years at San Francisco's Fillmore Theatre with special guests.

Formed in 1973 straight out of high school in East L.A., Los Lobos took their love of rock and roll and created their unique hybrid incorporating traditional Mexican music. From their beginnings performing in local dive bars and making their mark in the L.A. rock underground of the '80s to being catapulted to fame with their recording of " La Bamba " and garnering raves for the uncompromising artistry of recordings such as "Kiko", the three time Grammy winning band have forged a stellar career unlike any other in the rock, blues or traditional genres by constantly pushing their creative boundaries. The energized performances on "DISCONNECTED IN NEW YORK CITY " represent every era of their storied career from "I Got To Let You Know" from HOW WILL THE WOLF SURVIVE? to their breakout #1 hit " La Bamba " to rarer tracks from their 90's releases and their last studio album TIN CAN TRUST. Playing with a stripped down ensemble, the recording, although not fully acoustic, shines with a close knit intimacy.
