SoundExchange Receives 2013 Impact Award From The Gospel Music Association
Washington (Top40 Charts / SoundExchange) SoundExchange, the independent nonprofit digital performance rights organization that collects and distributes performance royalties from satellite radio, Internet radio and cable TV channels on behalf of recording artists and labels, was honored with an Impact Award at the 44 th annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove awards in Nashville, Tennessee , last week at the Collins Theatre. The Impact Award is presented to an individual or organization that is not an artist, who has made a significant contribution to the gospel music industry. SoundExchange is being recognized for its mission to support, protect and propel the music industry forward and its contribution to the Christian and gospel music community.

"Gospel music and gospel artists are an important and ever-expanding part of the music industry. We are deeply honored to receive the Impact Award from the Gospel Music Association. We will continue to advocate on behalf of gospel artists, record labels and the creative community as a whole," said SoundExchange President and CEO Michael Huppe .

"We would like to congratulate SoundExchange as a recipient of the 2013 Impact Award," said Jackie Patillo , executive director of the Gospel Music Association. "The Impact Award recognizes those organizations or non-artist individuals who had a positive influence on all genres of gospel music. The work SoundExchange does to protect the creative community and the value of their music cannot be overstated."

SoundExchange, which recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary, represents more than 90,000 artists and 28,000 rights owners and label accounts from every type of musical genre. In just a decade, SoundExchange has put more than $1.5 billion into music creators' pockets. In addition, SoundExchange now administers the statutory license for more than 2,000 digital music services that rely on it for the use of sound recordings.
