Starkey's 'Blaster' Premieres In Pitchfork & Fact Mag, Out Now On SMOG Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Plexi PR) SMOG Records is proud to present Starkey's highly anticipated 'Blaster' EP out now. With premieres in Pitchfork, Fact Mag and This Song Is Sick, 'Blaster' is a six track release that bridges gaps between grime, trap, dubstep, experimental and garage, and enters a course of its own. More than just a collection of tracks, the 'Blaster' EP takes you on a journey with epic introductions and melodic bridges in between the heavy moments. This could go off in a club as much as it could your headphones. SMOG Records continues to blaze new territories with this release.

"'Blaster' goes from an imperial-sounding drumless opener to sudden handclaps and madcap laser sounds that do the title justice - and that's all within the first minute." - Pitchfork

"The best comes with 'Gun Fingers' however, as Starkey takes things back to basics with a rusty, minimal beat and the kind of gun cocks that can't help but bring a smile to your face." - Fact Mag

Philadelphia's PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create; his sound hits hard and is littered with subsonic bass and colourful audio frequencies. Grime, dubstep, hip-hop, ambient and more are all blended into his own 'street bass' genre, with a frightening attention to detail and hard lean towards a space age aesthetic. Starkey is also co-owner of the Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Record labels, and a member of the Trouble & Bass Crew, releasing the freshest output from around the globe. This combined with his fortnightly radio show on Sub FM has positioned him as one of the tastemakers to emerge out of the bass heavy underground.

"Philadelphia based producer Starkey has frequently brought melody and a propensity for playing with rhythm to dubstep..." - Pitchfork

"Grime might only just be beginning to make waves on US shores, but Starkey's been at it for years" - Top40-Charts

'Blaster' is out now on SMOG Records and available on iTunes, Beatport and at all major online music retailers.
