Monkey Knife Fight Release LP 'What's It Mean To You?'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The rock band known as Monkey Knife Fight have released their new LP record album, titled, "What's It Mean to You?" The album is comprised of 11 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 50 minutes. It has been released on the Jons Basement Records music label. A high-octane modern alternative rock record full of melody, soul and adrenalized fun, "What's It Mean to You?" by Monkey Knife Fight is easily one of this year's most intriguing releases.

Monkey Knife Fight are billed as Felipe, Jon, Dave, and Shawn from the New England Area. With their musical roots digging into a wide variety of rock styles, these players are full of surprises on "What's It Mean to You?." Pared-down punk rock songs blend into extremely legitimate blues songs, which dovetail into fuzzy power-groove tracks, which lead the listener to modern rock ballads that are part Sunny Day Real Estate and part Silverchair.

This dizzying variety makes sense when considering their cited artistic influences: Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Muse, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Peter Gabriel, Silverchair, Blink 182, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, and, "everything else that's awesome." That they can pull off each of these disparate styles with aplomb and ease makes listening to the record entirely entertaining. One never knows what they will play next. The atmosphere is laid-back, yet intense, and somehow always optimistic sounding.

This devil-may-care attitude is perhaps best exemplified by the bio on their official Facebook page, duplicated here in its entirety:

"Jon met Elena. Elena is Felipe's cousin. Jon and Elena get married. Jon meets Dave. They play music... Elena and Jon have Thanksgiving at their house. Felipe sings with Jon. The next week Felipe starts playing with Jon and Dave and he won't leave. Then they find Shawn on the 'casual encounters' section of Craigslist to play bass... Now they play awesome shows... So go to one. The End"

"What's It Mean to You?" by Monkey Knife Fight is available online worldwide beginning 8 November 2013.

The LP "What's It Mean to You" is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes or www.top40-charts.com for convenient purchase and download.
