New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has released his latest solo album, the solo piano disc All That is Now , as well as Jordan Rudess Explores, a Wizdom Music interactive iOS app that allows fans to have an interactive audio-visual experience with the music from the CD. All That is Now , which features 13 new compositions performed on a Steinway concert grand piano, was created as part of a PledgeMusic campaign in which almost 1000 fans pledged between $10 and $5000, receiving updates on the recording process and an array of prizes, ranging from private lessons to backstage passes. He also raised money for an orchestral album, to be released in 2014.
Says Rudess, "This album is very close to my heart. For years, I searched until I found the instrument of my dreams that would be the perfect extension of my musical thought, playing literally every piano I could find all over the world. I found my concert grand seven years ago and, ever since, my deepest musical connection occurs when I play my Steinway. It is my lifetime goal to purely translate the music in my mind, to my hands and then onto the keyboard. This album captures the magic of that connection. The recording was done simply in the piano room of my house using just my Steinway D and Earthworks microphones. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it."
Dream Theater 's latest studio album, Dream Theater , is available everywhere now (grab a copy from the www.top40-charts.com webstore). The band's song "The Enemy Inside" has just earned them their second Grammy nomination, for Best Metal Performance.
