LOS ANGELES (Liquid 8 Records) - Los Angeles' FEAR FACTORY is on a mission; a mission to infiltrate America's infrastructure by way of numerous multimedia channels. Having already circled the globe twice in support of their acclaimed Billboard Top 30 charting Liquid 8 Records debut Archetype, which has moved over 100,000 units in its relatively short shelf-time, the band is gearing up to invade North America's stages once again, this time co-headlining with aggro-metal incumbents Lamb of God. However, this is merely the tip of the proverbial iceberg for one of the hardest working bands in hard rock today.

October 29th will see the nationwide theatrical release of the Lion's Gate Films shocker Saw, starring Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Color Purple), Carey Elwes (Shadow of the Vampire, Kiss The Girls, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Crush), Monica Potter (Along Came A Spider, Con Air, Patch Adams), Dinah Meyer (Starship Troopers, Birds of Prey, Dragonheart) and directed by newcomer James Wan. The movie stunned audiences at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, which called it a "landscape of indelible horror".

FEAR FACTORY's latest single "Bite The Hand That Bleeds" will not only be on the film's soundtrack (released through Artists Addiction Records), but is featured as the movie's closing credits theme. Music Supervisor Jonathan Platt explains the choice, "I played the song for Saw producer Gregg Hoffman, and he loved it and decided to use it for the end title theme. This is a very dark movie, and the song really works well with the film's tone. The mood, music, and textures of the song accentuate this movie." A trailer for the film can be viewed here: https://www.lionsgatefilms.com/profile/saw.php and the movie's official website is https://www.sawmovie.com/

FEAR FACTORY frontman Burton C. Bell, visibly excited to be involved with the project, offers his thoughts, "This is definitely the kind of movie I would go see, because it's really dark, along the lines of Se7en, Silence of the Lambs and 9mm. Though not the first movie we've ever had a song [previous credits include Hideaway (1995), Mortal Kombat (1995), Carrie 2 (1999), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)], it's the one I am most anticipating." The band had also worked formerly with Platt for the soundtrack to the 2004 sci-fi anime film Galerians: Rion, which featured a remix of the single "Archetype", and a special video for the track was filmed. Bell continues, "We have always approached our music as a soundscape, we write to the world that we see around us, and it definitely fits into the modern world - full of conflict, struggle and hate.
The music exudes this aggressive nature, but channels it through a sweeping soundscape of raw emotion." A subsequent video for "Bite The Hand That Bleeds" was recently filmed and includes excerpts from Saw in a conceptual fashion. Look for it on hard rock video programming throughout the country very soon.

FEAR FACTORY's next endeavor will be released on November 16th in the form of a CD Maxi Single with Bonus DVD EP, entitled Bite The Hand That Bleeds And Related Archetypal Imagery. The disc will feature an audio track for "Bite The Hand That Bleeds" as well as the video for Archetype's first single "Cyberwaste", the three videos for "Archetype" (narrative/performance/anime), and the Saw-rendered video for "Bite The Hand That Bleeds".
Bonus materials include exclusive FEAR FACTORY ringtones and a limited edition fold-out poster created by renowned horror-comic book artist, Ben Templesmith (30 Days Of Night, Hellspawn), who had produced a draft for Archetype's original cover art concept upon Bell's request. A very eager Templesmith elucidates, "Burton found me through the comics work I'd done for IDW Publishing, as my book 30 Days of Night is one of the biggest selling horror comics in years. I leapt at the chance, as I'd been listening to FEAR FACTORY way back when I had been drawing that damn thing! The power of their music was pretty influential on me. As an artist, I tend to want a whole bunch of 'atmosphere' in my work, and the best way to help get that is playing music in the background. FEAR FACTORY just has that special vibe that helps push me when I need to go in a certain direction." Consequently, the success of 30 Days Of Night has led to numerous sequels and a major motion picture option was recently picked up by Sony Pictures, reportedly to be helmed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead, Dark Man).

Simultaneously to this, FEAR FACTORY is working on an upcoming covers album of tracks that influenced them over the years, and they are hammering out ideas for the inevitable remix version of the Archetype album - a concept the band is famous for. Guitarist Christian Olde-Wolbers has also recently announced the confirmation of a COW Signature Guitar series he secured through Jackson Guitars.
The model will be presented at the NAMM conference in January and will be released in 6-string and 7-string configurations. Drummer Raymond Herrera has set his sights back onto videogame and movie music, composing tracks for the sequel to his recent work for the soundtrack to the streetracing film Mischief Invasion, as well music for Namco's Dead To Rights 2 and Sony's Gran Tourismo 4 videogames.
