Walt Disney Records' Frozen Soundtrack Climbs To The No 1 Position On The Billboard 200 Chart
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Walt Disney Records) Six weeks after its release, the Frozen soundtrack has claimed the top position on the Billboard 200 chart, scanning over 165,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. To date, the album has sold more than 500,000 units and will be certified gold shortly. Disney's last animated film and soundtrack to achieve simultaneous No. 1s was "The Lion King" in 1994.

The album is also No. 1 on Billboard's Soundtrack Chart and Overall Digital Albums Chart, peaked at No. 1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, and is No. 1 on Amazon's Overall Music Category, Pop, and Overall MP3 charts. Additionally, over 1.6M combined digital tracks have been sold to date and over 850K tracks have been sold of the breakout hit "Let It Go."

The big-screen adventure "Frozen" has heated up the box office this holiday season, returning to first place in its sixth weekend domestically ( Jan. 3-5, 2014 ). In wide release since November 27 , "Frozen" posted the No. 1 all-time Thanksgiving debut and the largest opening ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. "Frozen," Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd feature film, has earned more than $650 million worldwide, including $300 million domestically. Named best animated film by more than a dozen critics associations, it has been nominated for two Golden Globes®, 10 Annie Awards and a pair of BFCA Critics' Choice Awards.

The soundtrack features eight original songs from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Tony® Award-winning songwriter Robert Lopez plus score by the composer of last year's Oscar®-winning short "Paperman," Christophe Beck . The original motion picture soundtrack includes the Golden Globe® nominated song "Let It Go" performed by Tony® Award winner Idina Menzel , who provides the voice of Elsa in the movie.

The Frozen soundtrack, the Frozen two-disc deluxe edition and the digital deluxe edition soundtrack (featuring 23 and 27 additional tracks respectively, including demos, outtakes and a "Let It Go" instrumental karaoke track) are now available at physical and online retail.
