SAYREVILLE, NJ (www.njimf.com) - So much great music, so little time to catch it all. That's been the lament of Jersey music fans and musicians for quite a while. Nobody doubts that New Jersey is rife with great musical talent, but with largely disparate scenes in musical hotbeds such as Hoboken, New Brunswick and the Jersey Shore, it's been a chore for fans and artists to get to know one another and really revel in all the great music that this state has to offer. That is until now.

In August of this year, a coalition of New Jersey musicians, writers, DJ's and promoters, got together to create the New Jersey Independent Music Festival. Hosted by Jersey music luminaries Al Muzer and Bob Makin, the event will be held at Club Centro in the centrally located city of South Amboy, New Jersey on October 23rd, 2004. Show time is 6:00 PM. The NJIMF will feature many of the state's best bands including Jersey's shining stars Spiraling, who recently gained national exposure with the release of their first album Transmitter. Critical and public response to the album was immediate and enthusiastic, The Aquarian Weekly hailed it as "an instant classic." Filling out the bill will be Fairmont, Souls' Release, Bongo Jones, The Marbles, The John Taglieri Band and The Bastards of Melody. To keep the night rockin' in between sets, legendary Jersey DJ's Lazlo of BlowUpRadio.com and Jared Migden of WRSU will be spinning local tunes all night long. There will also be a pre-show music discussion panel dedicated to helping independent artists. The panel will feature top industry professionals in the fields of music publicity, radio promotion and music press.

Think it can't get any better..well it does. The festival will be co-sponsored by Jersey Jams Fund, a United Way music education program for Jersey children. All proceeds from the festival will be donated to this great organization dedicated to enriching children with the positive impact of music. Other sponsors include radio stations BlowUpRadio.com and WRSU, arts and entertainment publication Upstage Magazine, and Grausound Productions.

And this is just the beginning! Festival organizers promise that the NJIMF is only the first of many events to bring together Jersey music fans and artists. So if you're a music fan, a musician wanting to become part of the scene or just want to support a good cause, come out to Club Centro at 2080 Route 35 in South Amboy, NJ on October 23rd and enjoy a great night of music and more. Tickets, available at the door, will be $7, 21 and up only.
