LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) - Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand are happy they have achieved success in their twenties rather than in their teens, because they are mature enough to cope with being famous. The band, who last Tuesday picked up the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in Britain, and an award for GQ International Band of the Year, told Time Out magazine they would not have known what to do if they broke the music industry at an earlier age. Frontman Alex Kapranos, 29, says, "If this had happened when I was 17, I'd have gone crazy. but NOT now." The Q Awards take place in London on October 4.
