New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Broken Bells, with a little help from some vintage Ringo Starr footage, performed a cover of the early Beatles classic 'And I Love Her' live on David Letterman's US chat at the start of this week.
With a tiny sprinkling of 'I Am The Walrus' thrown in for good measure, Danger Mouse and The Shins' James Mercer - who have their own album 'After The Disco' out this week - played their part in the week-long celebrations coming live from the Ed Sullivan Theater marking 50 years since The Beatles' US television debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Letterman started the week-long celebration off right with two clear Beatle-schooled songsmiths - Broken Bells' Danger Mouse and James Mercer. The duo covered "And I Love Her," putting a trippy twist on the tune. In addition to the track, video clips of Ringo Starr playing drums synced up with the performance.
