New Orleans (Top40 Charts/ Crescent City Artists) Cindy Scott, New Orleans' award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter, will officially release her sophisticated new album, 'Historia,' on March 18, 2014.
Radio promotion will begin soon, so please be on the lookout for the recording at your station.
'Historia' features Scott's recognizable beautiful sound, great pitch, and most importantly her honest storytelling. From a New Orleans-tinged 'Shaw 'Nuff' (with Scott's original lyrics and Shannon Powell's tambourine spice), to the hard-swinging 'Turnaround' (a playful duet with 4-time Grammy nominee Karrin Allyson), to the edgy and dark 'Historia de un Amor' (sung both in Spanish and with Scott's English lyrics), the album is both joyful and poignant, current and timeless.

The 12-song album, which will be available at iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, the Louisiana
Music Factory, and www.cindyscottmusic.com, is a combination of original songs and standards.
"Her voice moves seamlessly between influences, holding a masterfully controlled vibrato on one phrase before dipping into a bluesy purr on the next."
DownBeat Magazine
"Cindy spins a melody with an open warm tone that drips slowly like New Orleans honey.
Passion and conviction mixed with wisdom and humor flow from this fiery and sexy redhead."
GRAMMY Nominee Roseanna Vitro
In Cindy Scott's new release, 'Historia,' the jazz singer/songwriter's original lyrics talk about living and loving fully, finding solace in nature, getting through hard times, taking chances in life, and connecting with people. The album is called 'Historia' in reference to the rich bolero 'Historia de un Amor.' This track is dedicated to her parents' sixty-year marriage, and reflects the family's deep feeling of loss over the death of her father shortly before Scott recorded the album.
Says Cindy, "This is the message and inspiration behind my new album. It's about deep connections, the power within them, and the fire and emotions behind them. This recording is my most personal so far, because it reveals my own emotions, my roots, and how I try to live my life."
Scott will tour the US,
Europe and Mexico throughout 2014 in support of the album. For tour dates, please visit www.cindyscottmusic.com
