Napalm Death's Mitch Harris Produces Menace To Smash The Boundaries Of The Rock Genre
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Matchbox Recordings) The American guitarist collaborated with Mick Harris, an original member of English grindcore band Napalm Death and no relation to Mitch.

In 1989 Harris joined Napalm Death to become part of the longest running line up alongside Mark "Barney" Greenway, bassist Shane Embury and drummer Danny Herrera, while none of the original members of the band remain.

CURRENT

Menace contains drummer Derek Roddy (ex-Nile, ex-Hate Eternal, Serpents Rise), current Dragonforce bassist Fred Leclercq and Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury with stringed instrumentalist Nicola Manzan.

"I Live With Your Ghost" is the first official video from Menace's forthcoming album Impact Velocity (released 18 March in North America and 14 March worldwide).

Napalm Death have appeared with Chris Evans and Jim Carey on TV and featured in the hit show Skins. Sky, Yahoo and the NME reported how their Victoria and Albert Museum gig scheduled for March 2013 was cancelled for fears that Napalm Death's music could "cause the historic museum to crumble."

RELEASED

Earache Records released The World's Shortest Album, which features 13 of the best grindcore songs of the last 20 years, including Napalm Death. Steve Lamacq played the entire album on his BBC radio show last April to mark Record Store Day.

"I Live With Your Ghost" is described as personal and obscure, distilling his experiences and amplifying everything from Harris' best to worst experiences. Mitch says: "It is about overcoming loss and hardship, and a combination of my many interests."

COLLABORATING

To show that rockers are collaborating creatively just as much as current chart acts, Mitch says: "The initial idea for Menance began with a plan to work with Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy) and drummer Brann Dailor (Mastodon)."

Mitch and Max Cavalera had worked together to write "K.C.S.", a track which was included on Soulfly's album Savages, which was released on 4 October 2013.

DESCRIPTIVE

The original plan didn't work, but Mitch found his band and the result he says is: "The old meeting the new; heavy and melodic, descriptive and adventurous, epic and futuristic, carnal and primitive, and so on. Menance brings unrealized dreams closer to fruition."
