Greyhounds Make Ardent Music Debut With 'Accumulator' Out April 8, 2014
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Stream "Groove-Heavy Bit of Heartache," "What's On Your Mind" Via Texas Monthly
Greyhounds have confirmed their Ardent Music debut with 'Accumulator' out April 8--an 11-song collection of rich, rootsy soul by the Austin-based duo. The self-produced album features Anthony Farrell on keys and Andrew Trube on guitar as they trade off vocals from Farrell's husky funk to Trube's eerie twang. JamBase says the band "makes a sweet, hellacious racket...the kinda music that makes club walls sweat." Greyhounds will kick off a national tour at SXSW and play Joe's Pub in NYC on April 18. Tour dates below.

Texas Monthly says 'Accumulator' track "What's On Your Mind" "captures vulnerability with a ringing guitar and a bluesy swagger, and all the pain a strained falsetto can convey." Listen here: https://www.texasmonthly.com/daily-post/listen-exclusive-premiere-greyhounds-whats-your-mind

Greyhounds take what might be called the "one man's trash..." approach to recording. While Farrell collects and rewires keyboards, particularly Casio models from the 1980s, Trube has amassed an extensive collection of antique guitars, all of them purchased for under $100. "People should try and preserve the history of all these sounds," says Farrell, and indeed, wild sounds abound on 'Accumulator.'

Farrell and Trube met when the former answered a classified ad in LA Weekly for a keyboardist. They subsequently relocated to Trube's native Texas, playing residencies at Austin's Continental Club and recording and touring as members of JJ Grey's band, Mofro.

Last fall Greyhounds signed with Ardent Music in Memphis, the label that launched Big Star and is home to the legendary Ardent Studios, where everyone from Leon Russell and ZZ Top, to The White Stripes and R.E.M. have recorded.
