Halperin is dedicating "Heart Tells Your Head" to the late Kidd Kraddick, a longtime mentor and supporter of Halperin. In memory of Kraddick, Halperin is donating 15 percent of album sales to Kidd's Kids - a nonprofit organization founded by Kraddick to support chronically and terminally ill children.
"Heart Tells Your Head" is comprised of 11 original tracks, including a feature with critically acclaimed rapper
Trip Lee on track "Hey 17."

"Heart Tells Your Head" has drawn comparisons to the work of
Ben Folds and
John Mayer and follows the piano-fueled approach that made Halperin's 2011 debut, "Rise and Fall," a success. "Rise and Fall" reached No. 1 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Album Chart and No. 14 on Billboard's Heatseekers Album Chart.
Halperin began work on "Heart Tells Your Head" in 2012, and has spent the past year in the studio finalizing the project with producer Jordan Critz, whose has worked with The Fray, Third Eye
Blind and Lifehouse.
"This album represents my best work as a singer/songwriter," Halperin said. "I've poured my heart and soul into these songs. Each one tells a very real story and I've pushed the envelope with a more edgy sound, while staying true to who I am as an artist."
A native of Omaha, Neb., Halperin burst onto the U.S. music scene as a contestant on Season 10 of American Idol. With a field of more than 115,000 hopefuls vying for a spot on the show, Halperin emerged as one of the top 24 finalists, earning a spot on the live show.
Since his time on American Idol, Halperin has toured and performed before thousands of fans, appearing with some of the music industry's biggest artists, including The Fray,
Kelly Clarkson, Ben Folds,
Blake Shelton, The Jonas Brothers, LeAnn Rimes,
Jason Derulo and Hot Chelle Rae.
Halperin has achieved radio success, thanks in large part to the support of the nationally syndicated Kraddick, who regularly featured Halperin and his music on the Kidd Kraddick In the Morning Show.
