Randy Newman Performs On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Randy Newman was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC on March 3. He spoke with Fallon about, among other things, the show's return to New York City, offering the perfect segue to Newman's performance of his classic tune, "I Love L.A." He was joined by The Tonight Show 's incomparable house band The Roots for the performance, which you can watch below, as well as a web-exclusive performance of another Newman classic, "My Life Is Good," which you can also watch below, plus the interview. On the show, it was revealed that, in addition to three Randy Newman concerts in Colorado this month - Lone Tree, March 12; Beaver Creek, March 13; and Aspen, March 15 - tickets will go on sale to the general public March 17 for one-night only, Encores! Off-Center concert presentation of his famed take on the classic Faust tale, with Newman himself playing the devil, at New York City Center July 1. Randy Newman's latest Nonesuch release is the 2011 CD/DVD Live in London . While touring in support of his 2008 album Harps and Angels , Randy Newman performed a special concert at London's intimate LSO St. Luke's accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Robert Ziegler. The program, featuring songs from throughout Newman's career, was televised by the BBC and on Live in London along with an interview from the BBC broadcast. The Sunday Times of London says: "Essential listening for anyone who cares about the art of songwriting."
