Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin Announce Spring/Summer Tour Behind 'Common Ground,' Their First Album Together In 30 Years, Celebrating The Songs Of Big Bill Broonzy
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin, founders of seminal early LA punk roots band The Blasters, will embark on a lengthy US tour this Spring/Summer, playing songs off their upcoming first LP together in 30 years + more.

'Common Ground: Dave Alvin + Phil Alvin Play and Sing the Songs of Big Bill Broonzy' is out June 3 on Yep Roc, and is a howling album of roots and rockabilly to celebrate the blues great Big Bill Broonzy. It includes 12 songs that capture a 30-year cross section of Broonzy's canon. Stream "All By Myself" here via an exclusive Billboard Q+A.

The Alvin brothers founded The Blasters in 1979, and they soon emerged to international fame, performing with everyone from X and Black Flag to The Cramps and Queen. The brothers went their separate ways in 1986, when Dave left the band to pursue a solo career. After Phil Alvin had a health scare in 2012, it inspired the two to reunite. In Dave's own words: "We argue sometimes, but we never argue about Big Bill Broonzy."
