New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Razor & Tie) At Saturday night's Juno Awards in Canada,
Protest The Hero received the Juno for Best Metal/ Hard
Music Album for their cd, Volition. The band was appearing in Wilmington, NC as part of their second North American tour for Volition when they received the news.
Guitarist Tim Millar reacts to the news by saying, "We are very proud to be recognized by the Juno Awards for Best Metal/Hard
Music Album of 2013. 2013 was a crazy year and without all the hard work of the people that made the record come to life, and all the people the contributed to the record before hearing a single note, this album would not have been possible. We are forever in your debt."
Guitarist Luke Hoskin adds, "We are thrilled with our recent Juno win! We had incredible company in our category and it could have gone to anyone. We remain proud Canadians even though we are currently touring south of the border. Thanks for all the support!"
Volition was funded 100% by fans through an Indiegogo campaign in 2013. The band then licensed the record to Sony Canada, Razor & Tie, and Spinefarm for worldwide distribution.
The current leg of the Volition tour ends April 19th in Guelph, Ontario. The band will next head back to
Europe for dates in June and July. These dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
