The Meatmen "Savage Sagas" First New Studio Album In Nearly 20 Years Plus Tour Dates
Pottstown, PA. (Top40 Charts/ CWPR) The Meatmen's first new album of original hits in 19 years entitled, Savage Sagas is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2014 to at long-last satisfy the sick, mean spirited, and carnal musical desires of their patient and unyielding fan base of 'Meatheads.' Preorder HERE now.

For the uninitiated or musically bereft, The Meatmen are a legacy hardcore combo from Detroit that originated in Lansing, MI in 1979. A rotating lineup, that has formerly featured members of Minor Threat, Negative Approach and The Necros, and fronted by hardcore's original funny-man, Tesco Vee. With notoriously politically incorrect song titles like "I Sin for a Living," and "Crippled Children Suck," The Meatmen have left a considerable skid mark on the world of punk rock, hardcore and have influenced acts the likes of Turbonegro, Ween and Mr. Bungle, along with notable fans ranging from Debbie Harry to renowned best-selling author Stephen King.

The Meatmen are the brainchild of the "Dutch Hercules," Tesco Vee, (founder of the iconic Touch and Go Records / Punk Zine), who was a key player in the development of the Midwest hardcore scene - along with stalwarts such as Negative Approach, The Necros, Die Kruezen and The Pagans. Touch and Go: The Complete Hardcore Punk Zine '79-'83 (Released in 2010) is now in it's third pressing through Bazillion Points publishing.

Savage Sagas is the first collection of original recordings from the band since 1995's Pope on a Rope, and is sure to destroy the collective consciousness of discriminating long time loyalists, and garner legions of new converts to the bands inimitable bent and twisted musical stylings. Song titles include, "Dinosaur," "Pissed Hot for Weed," and "The Ballad of Stinky Penis."

Slated to hit the streets on May 27 on deluxe limited-edition gatefold album, and a standard issue album, and CD, via Self Destructo Records. The album will also be available on most digital platforms.

Summer tour announcement to follow including fests and special appearances to support the album's release.

QUOTES

"The Meatmen are the Alamo of Rock and Roll. They will steamroll you, you'll eat their poop. Suck their poop. You are probably listening to a record by 4 pansies dressed in black with a Chinese girl playing cello, one of the dudes is playing a toy piano. You saw it on an iTunes commercial. A limey told you it was great. It sucks. The Meatmen rule. Fuck you." - Mickey Melchiondo (aka Dean Ween) (Ween / Moistboyz)

You know what? The Dwarves ARE the second greatest band after The Meatmen!!! - Nick Oliveri (The Dwarves, Queens of the Stone Age, Bl'ast, Mondo Generator)

Tesco is probably the reason I own 50 band shirts and two pairs of matching dress socks but that's a different matter entirely - Justin M. Norton (Decibel Magazine)
