DETROIT, MI. (Top40 Charts/ Aural Pleasure Music) Detroit rockers Sponge will launch a PledgeMusic Campaign to fund an upcoming summer tour on Sunday April 6, 2014. Partial proceeds from the campaign will benefit Michigan based charity Eastside Teen Outreach.
The 90-day fundraising campaign offers fans exclusive premiums in exchange for pledges. Premiums range from autographed copies of Sponge's soon-to-be-released "Rotting Alive" CD (a live recording of the band's classic Rotting Piñata record) to an opportunity to record a song with Sponge. Other highlights include private in-home shows, handwritten lyrics, videotaped music dedications, guitar lessons and even a personal guitar smashing on stage.
Some of the biggest names in music use PledgeMusic's direct-to-fan music platform to release new material and fund creative projects, most notably
Slash and Sevendust.
Sponge is thrilled to be part of PledgeMusic's roster. "We are super excited to have this new platform that connects our band and our fans in a way we never imagined. Who would have dreamed 20 years ago that you could have one of your favorite bands teach you guitar, wear your t-shirt at a concert, sing happy birthday to you over the phone, smash your guitar at a show or get an armful of autographed swag...but it's not a dream - it's PledgeMusic!" enthuses Sponge lead singer Vinnie Dombroski.

Eastside Teen Outreach (ETO) supports teens in Southeast Macomb County to make a positive impact in their community. Sponge connected with the charity about a year ago at a local fundraiser. "ETO offers up an extra safety net that provides positive interaction and activities for young people," explains Dombroski. "Having the opportunity to help invest in the positive influence of these young folks is important to the band" he adds. For more information on this charity please visit eastsideteenoutreach.org
