Aiym Breaks Out With "The Other Side"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pop/rock singer, Aiym Almas, released her debut single, "The Other Side," a mesmerizing anthem of independence packed with powerful vocals in a work of pop perfection. Displaying an impressive range both in style and vocal ability, Almas' eclectic sensibilities shine beautifully in this track. "The Other Side" is the lead single off her upcoming EP, Til Dawn due out later next year. "The Other Side" is now available in iTunes.

With vocals rich and deep like a vast mountain range, Aiym Almas' epic sonic landscape seizes attention as soon as "The Other Side" begins. The song is both a love song as well as a call to embrace change, crossing to the other side of new experiences. Almas speaks to a longing to branch out and grow as she sings the provocative line, "take me higher to the sky, untie the ropes that bind me." Traveling from Kazakhstan to London and then Los Angeles, Aiym Almas is accustomed to being out of her comfort zone and "The Other Side" is quite literally a constant reminder for the artist that she has to be her own advocate and declare a sense of independence. In her live performance, Almas' sweet and tender stage demeanor create a surprise to audiences when she begins singing in a voice that is strong and commanding with music that packs a rock and roll edge. As a figure of mystery with rock styling peppered throughout her approach to pop, it makes perfect sense that Almas' name literally translates as "My Moon." When reflecting on the song, Aiym says the song is a "cross over to the side where you give in to love and want to be in it completely without the fears and doubts that have been limiting you and keeping you tied."

Born in Kazakhstan, Aiym had limited exposure to American music as a child, but the CDs her parents would bring her from trips abroad became a window into the world of pop that immediately became her dream. Informed by classics like Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald and Michael Jackson, Almas found a deep passion in American top chart hits. Almas would later grow a palette for American rock and describes hearing Led Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" as a life-changing moment. Songwriters like Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks help pave the way for Aiym as they With a deep passion for music, Almas taught herself how to play guitar, piano and ukulele. Almas spent several years in London where she studied music among other academic pursuits and in 2013, moved to Los Angeles to begin collaborating with other artists and produce her own music. Almas has performed at legendary LA venues such as House of Blues, Howl At The Moon, Confession Night Club as well as many venues throughout London.

As her debut release, the pop singer crosses the spectrum into liberation with "The Other Side" as a confident statement that the Los Angeles music scene can expect big things from Aiym Almas. "The Other Side" is the first taste of Almas' excellence, which we can expect more of in her upcoming EP, Til Dawn due out next year.
