Chappell Roan To Perform At Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Elton John AIDS Foundation has announced that GRAMMY Award nominated popstar and Midwest Princess Chappell Roan will perform at the 33rd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood, CA on March 2, 2025.
Hosted by Elton John and David Furnish, the annual event is a coveted invite on Hollywood's biggest night of the year and supports the Foundation's efforts to end new cases of HIV. The evening will be co-hosted by Golden Globe and EMMY Award-winning actress Jean Smart, EMMY Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, EMMY Award and Tony Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris, and Award-winning actor, author, and chef David Burtka.

This highly anticipated awards season event will bring together a star-studded Benefit Chair and Committee, including passionate advocates and champions such as Megan Thee Stallion, Hozier, Sharon Stone, Sean Penn, Mick Jagger, and Jeffrey Wright. Presenting Sponsors of the event include A+E Networks, Chopard, e.l.f. Beauty, Gilead Sciences, Robert and Dana Kraft, and Bob and Tamar Manoukian. Supporting co-sponsors include Judy and Leonard Lauder, plus official airline partner, American Airlines, wine partner, DAOU Vineyards, spirits partner, Tequila Don Julio, and the City of West Hollywood.

"Music has always been a force for change, uniting communities, raising awareness, and inspiring hope in the fight against AIDS. Today, as AIDS still claims a life every minute, that spirit fuels our mission to end the epidemic by standing against stigma and ensuring equal access to care," said Elton John, Founder, Elton John AIDS Foundation. "David and I are thrilled to gather with friends and supporters once again, and we're honored to welcome the bold and authentic Chappell Roan as this year's performer, whose artistry embodies the power of music to inspire change."

Recognized for her bold pop hooks, sex positivity, honest songwriting, and heavy dose of glitter, Chappell Roan is the next multi-faceted force in pop music. She broke through in 2020 with "Pink Pony Club" and has gained popularity with her punchy bangers that combine fantastical narratives and heart-bearing self-reflection. The LA-based singer, songwriter, and performer is now nominated for an impressive six GRAMMY® Awards.

Since 1992, the annual Academy Awards® Viewing Party has supported the Elton John AIDS Foundation's mission to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, along with the stigmatization and lack of resources that drive it. The Foundation has a particular focus on outreach within communities that are most at risk of HIV - including LGBTQ+ people, young people, and people who use drugs - to make sure that no one is left behind. All funds raised during the event will support the Foundation's frontline partners in preventing new HIV transmissions, tackling discrimination, expanding education, challenging harmful laws, and providing compassionate care to vulnerable communities worldwide.

"The Academy Awards® Viewing Party is a night to celebrate the power of bold storytelling while raising funds for HIV/AIDS care and prevention," said David Furnish, Chair, Elton John AIDS Foundation. "It's about uniting to stand against stigma and champion equal access to care. We're thrilled to have the incredible Jean Smart, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka lighting up the stage as our co-hosts, and we're inspired by the talent and generosity of everyone who makes this event possible."

"Since its inception in 1992, The Academy Awards® Viewing Party has raised nearly $115 million—an incredible testament to what we can achieve when we come together with purpose and passion," said Anne Aslett, CEO, Elton John AIDS Foundation. "While we've made progress, HIV remains a serious threat to vulnerable communities worldwide. Events like this ensure we have the resources to continue making strides. We're grateful to all who support the Foundation and look forward to seeing their generosity drive lasting change for people living with and affected by HIV."
