NEW YORK (AP) - In support of its upcoming Wind-Up album, "Weathered," due Tuesday (Nov. 20), Creed will perform at the halftime show of this year's annual Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day football game. The game against the Denver Broncos -- to be broadcast Nov. 22 on CBS -- kicks off at 4:05 p.m. ET at Texas Stadium. Prior to the Thanksgiving Day performance, Creed will also make a previously announced appearance Saturday (Nov. 17) on NBC's "Saturday Night Live." Earlier that day, the group will chat with fans on AOL at 3 p.m. ET. Participants will be able to listen to first single "My Sacrifice" and fellow album track "Signs," plus enter a contest to meet the band. "My Sacrifice" is off to a quick start at U.S. radio, currently residing at No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 5 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks tally. The video for the track premiered earlier this week on MTV and is available for viewing on Creed's official Web site. Meanwhile, from Billboard we hav learned that Creed is planning to bring Sevendust out on the road with it for tours of North America and Australia when the group resumes roadwork in mid-2002. No specific dates have yet been nailed down. Asked on the Creed message board how the group's setlists will evolve with the addition of material from "Weathered," frontman Scott Stapp said, "we will definitely play all our singles, plus three songs from each record and rotate the set nightly. There will be some surprises along the way, including some covers that you've never heard so you'll just have to wait."
