New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound record label and studio in Nashville were the subject of a feature profile on PBS NewsHour on Friday. Auerbach took NewsHour's Jeffrey Brown on a tour of the studio and spoke with him about the artists he's recorded there, including Yola, Robert Finley, Shannon Shaw, Dee White, and, of course, The Black Keys on their new album, "Let's Rock."
"The Black Keys debuted its first album in five years recently at the number one spot of the US album chart," says host Judy Woodruff in her introduction. "Its vocalist and guitarist, Dan Auerbach, has also been making a name for himself in recent years in another setting."
"Eclectic, functional, and intimate," says Brown of Easy Eye Sound, "it's a space that seems to sum up Dan Auerbach's philosophy for making music."
Auerbach concludes: "In my heart, I believe that this is what I'm supposed to be doing."
