Goo Goo Dolls New Single 'Come To Me' Added To Radio 2 Playlist; UK Tour Starts Next Week
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) The new single from the Goo Goo Dolls has been added to the Radio 2 playlist. Singer John Rzeznik will also be playing an acoustic session for Jo Whiley airing at 8.45 pm on Oct 24th. ' Come To Me' is released on 28th October via Warner Music, and is a classic, intimate slice of romance that's destined to echo throughout arenas for years to come. Watch the animated lyric video below. Singer John Rzeznik commented: " I wrote Come To Me about my girlfriend who is now my wife, I wanted to capture the story of two people who's love carried them all the way back to the start"

The track is racing up the Hot AC charts in the US where it's currently at No.20 and the band have been busy appearing on a host of TV shows from Good Morning America, to Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Entertainment Tonight.

After playing to over half a million people on their recent US tour, Goo Goo Dolls will be making a welcome return to the UK in October. In their first visit since 2010, the band will be playing a string of dates kicking off in Nottingham on 15th October 2013. Tickets are available from: www.gigsandtours.com/tour/GOO-GOO-DOLLS .

Goo Goo Dolls released their tenth album 'Magnetic' on June 10th, a collection of 11 new songs overflowing with positive energy, which John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and drummer Mike Malinin - a lineup steady since 1995 - recorded with Gregg Wattenberg (Train), Rob Cavallo (Green Day), John Shanks (Bon Jovi) and Greg Wells (Katy Perry). Classic Rock called it "… a life affirming joyful record " whilst Q said "… every chorus stick like glue". From the celebratory " Rebel Beat" to the love-rediscovered ballad " Slow It Down ," the blue-collar anthem "Keep the Car Running " to the meltingly romantic " Come to Me," Magnetic is an album bursting with a spirit of renewal.

The UK dates are:

Wed 16 Manchester Academy
Thurs 17 Glasgow Academy
Sat 19 Newcastle Academy
Sun 20 Leeds Academy

Goo Goo Dolls have a long history, when the band started they were a post-hardcore/thrash band, ripped jeans, baseball cap backwards, guitars slung low. There is no better example of post-punk perfection than Ain't That Unusual . Then in 1998, came Iris, arguably one of the biggest songs of all time, and things would never be the same for them again. It brought them to a whole new audience - the album from which it came, Dizzy Up the Girl , has now sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Recently, three of the band's songs were placed in Billboard's Top 100 songs of 2002-12, with "Iris" standing at No.1. It recently re-entered the UK charts at No.3, where it has been a permanent feature in the top 200 for the past two years.
